The Rainbow Serpent, Ngalyod, is considered the most powerful Creation being. His mother was Yingarna, who turned into Waramurungundj, the Earth Mother. Ngalyod created waterways, billabongs and rivers. Some say in the Wet, you could see her in the sky, as the showers of renewing water fell to the earth.
This artwork has been purchased directly from an Aboriginal artist in Kakadu National Park or Arnhem Land. Warradjan Cultural Centre is committed to supporting artists, their families and the local community.
