Dimensions: 41cm x 29,4cmm
This original Aboriginal artwork created by Aboriginal Artist Karl Haala features Namarnkol (barramundi). A popular year round food source for the local people of Kakadu National Park.
The barramundi fish is seen in the park at ancient rock art site Ubirr and is one of the totem animals for many indigenous, as well as Dreaming in many sites.
Traditionally, Bininj used to spear them at billabongs, rivers and floodwaters. Today the locals go fishing with lines and modern nets, yet sometimes with spears, and they know the best fishing spots all around Kakadu. You can purchase this original piece of authentic Aboriginal artwork.
This artwork has been purchased directly from an Aboriginal artist in Kakadu National Park or Arnhem Land. Warradjan Cultural Centre is committed to supporting artists, their families and the local community.
