Collection: Paddy Cahill
Paddy Cahill is the grandson of the last chief of the Ngombur Clan group – Walter-Barlmarr-Cahill.
His country runs from Barron land at the mouth of the South Alligator all the way back to Yellow Waters, and at Cooinda lays a sacred site of importance to The Ngombur Clan Group, for there is a burial site in the surrounds of the region.
Paddy’s grandfather was adopted by Paddy Cahill of Oenpelli (the famous buffalo hunter) who had a relationship with Walter’s mother. Paddy Cahill started as an artist from age 14, and many years later is now proficient at painting in the traditional four ochre (x-ray) style, making spears, woomeras, clap-sticks and also does traditional bark painting as well. Famously Prince Charles purchased two of Paddy’s didgeridoos when he visited Australia and they are now at Buckingham palace.
