Explore the deep heritage of each thread of the Gwenyth Manakgu Woven Necklace/Wall Décor. It depicts the craftsmanship of the weavers from Kakadu National Park. The process begins by gathering the fresh kunngobarn (pandanus leaves) with a specially designed stick called manmarli.

The pandanus is decorated with natural dyes made from country-gathered materials such as native plants in Kakadu National Park using the organic materials from the region as a basis for the artistic process.

  • Versatile Use: These pieces of cultural artistry can either be worn like a necklace or displayed as wall décor.
  • Cultural Preservation: Traditionally, the art of weaving and material gathering, called ‘Women’s business’, is a beautiful way of preserving ancient tradition.
  • Regional Identity: Every necklace/wall décor labeled as a product of the Kakadu/West Arnhem region not only represents cultural richness but also supports the local economy and promotes the uniqueness of the Australian region.
